Report: U.S. Department of Defense: 2014 Climate Change Adaptation Roadmap

The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) has released a Climate Change Adaptation Roadmap, outlining how to combat climate risks that pose an ‘immediate threat’ to US national security. The roadmap shows how the DOD’s plans to respond to a host of climate-related threats. It includes both direct threats to the military such as increased flood risk to coastal defence facilities due to sea level rise, and indirect risks from, for example, increased tensions over water shortages in volatile parts of the world.
